Caroline New is a retired sociology lecturer, teacher of co-counselling, and life-long activist – currently in Sustaining All Life, the Green Party of England and Wales, and Extinction Rebellion. She was brought up in Wales by upwardly mobile working-class English parents, which sparked an early awareness of the importance of class. She has published academic works about feminism, gender and philosophy of social science. More relevant are (with Katie Kauffman) Co-Counselling: The Theory and Practice of Re-evaluation Counselling (Routledge, 2004), and (with Karen Snodin) Living memory, future worlds: Bristol voices on climate change (Older Women for World Change, 2012). 

Seán Ruth is an organisational psychologist with a special interest in leadership, conflict, and diversity. He leads workshops on leadership and liberation, particularly focusing on the role of middle-class people in ending class oppression. Growing up middle-class in a small town in Ireland led to a life-long interest in how the class system operates. He is the author of three books, Leadership and Liberation: A Psychological Approach (Routledge, 2006),High-Quality Leadership: A Self-Assessment Guide for Individuals and Teams (Veritas, 2006), and Personal Struggles: Oppression, Healing and Liberation (Cork University Press, 2019).
